40 Russian tourists almost washed out into the open ocean off the coast of Thailand – their boat ran out of fuel, the transponder was malfunctioning, and the people could not be found for three hours.
The emergency happened during an excursion to the Similan Islands in the Andaman Sea – purchased from the operator, by the way. The boat ran out of fuel, the crew gave a signal and asked for help. But help arrived only three hours later—it took a long time to find those who had dried out.
During this time, the ship almost approached the territorial waters of neighboring Indonesia and was carried into the Indian Ocean. As tourists told us, gray and white sharks were circling around the boat, but the captain confidently remained in good spirits. In the end, everything ended well – the tourists were taken to land. A tour operator asked them to pay extra for the experience promised them fruit as compensation for moral damages.
