In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, police officers seized illegally stored hunting rifles and ammunition from a resident of Nazarovo.
The police explained that the 64-year-old Nazarovite kept a small-caliber rifled rifle and 45 rounds of ammunition at home. The man explained that he inherited the weapon from his father.
A criminal case was opened against the man under Part 1 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition and storage of firearms and ammunition). He could face up to 5 years in prison. He is awaiting trial at home; he has been given a measure of procedural coercion in the form of an obligation to appear.
“Police urge citizens to promptly report to internal affairs agencies any known fact of illegal trafficking in weapons and ammunition», — the press service recalled.
