Sorana Cîrstea (35 years old, 36 WTA) e the new Transylvania Open 2026 champion! The athlete from Romania defeated Emma Răducanu (23 years old, 30 WTA), score 6-0, 6-2. The Romanian secured a hefty check following this success.

The game lasted an hour and 4 minutes and had no history. The first set was awarded by Sorana to 0, and in the second he lost only two games.

Cîrstea now has four WTA singles titles. The Romanian won a prize worth 37,390 dollars (approximately 31,000 euros).

It was Sorana's last participation in the Transylvania Open. The athlete from Romania announced her retirement at the end of this year. Finalist Emma Răducanu received the sum of 22,125 dollars (approximately 19,000 euros).

Thanks to the victory in Cluj, Cîrstea also recorded a rise in the world ranking. As of Sunday, Sorana will have 1,499 WTA points and will rank 31st in the women's tennis rankings. The best place in Sorana's career was 21 WTA, a position reached in August 2013.

The WTA 250 tournament in Cluj is endowed with total prizes of 283,347 dollars (approximately 240,000 euros).
