During the talks on peace in Ukraine, which took place on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, a trilateral Ukraine-US-Russia meeting was held, after which work continued in groups, said the head of the Ukrainian negotiating group, Rustem Umerov.

– After the trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi, the negotiation process was continued today in the formula of working in groups – Umerov, who is secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC), said on social media.

He assessed that the meeting was informative and productive. “The work was substantive and productive, focused on specific steps and practical solutions,” he said.

In addition to Umerov, the Ukrainian delegation includes: the head of the President's Office Kyrylo Budanov and his first deputy Serhiy Kyslytsya, the chairman of the parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People party Davyd Arakhamiya, the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov and the adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksandr Bevz.

Earlier, the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told journalists that the talks in Abu Dhabi had ended and were planned to continue on Thursday.

Even earlier, Umerov announced that the Ukrainian delegation arrived in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, where they started meetings in a trilateral format – Ukraine, the USA and Russia.

He then informed that a bilateral meeting was planned with the American side, represented by the envoys of US President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. He also announced that he would discuss issues related to security guarantees and the “prosperity package” for Ukraine, as well as some bilateral issues.

Umerov announced earlier that trilateral talks would also take place. According to the head of the Security Council, the Russian side “will be represented at a significant level and will have a mandate to discuss military and political issues.”
