Today, most foreigners work in sectors that have been struggling with a labor shortage for years. These are primarily transport and logistics, catering and the food industry. Employment there is mainly in low-paid positions that require high availability. At the same time, in the modern business services sector, foreign specialists constituted approximately 20 percent last year. the entire staff.
Faster legalization of employment in shortage professions
The government is preparing solutions that will make it even easier to employ foreigners. The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy has developed a list of 329 shortage professions. People performing these professions will be able to count on accelerated legalization of their stay and simpler employment procedures. The list included, among others: medical profession, which is intended to help improve the availability of health services.

As Krzysztof Inglot from Personnel Service emphasizes, many industries would not be able to function without foreign employees. This applies especially to meat and fish processing, where it is increasingly difficult to find employees from both Poland and Ukraine. This gap is filled by newcomers from Asia and Latin America.
Ukrainians remain the largest group of foreigners on the Polish labor market, followed by Belarusians, Georgians, Indians and Colombians.. The number of Nepalis is growing particularly rapidly – in 2025. increased by as much as 37 percent, which shows how much the structure of labor migration to Poland is changing.
