To receive payment, you must present the skin of the killed predator to a representative of the department. The skin must be untreated, undried and have intact ears. During the inspection, the specialist will carry out mandatory photo and video recording, and will also cut off at least half of the ear to prevent the skin from being reused to receive a reward.
You can apply for payment during the official wolf hunt or within 10 days after its end, as well as during periods of population control measures established by the department.
The measure is intended to stimulate the fight against the growing wolf population. According to authorities, from 2013 to 2025, the number of these predators in the region increased almost 16 times – from 89 to 1,451 individuals, and their range expanded throughout the region. It is planned to allocate 3 million rubles from the regional budget for remuneration payments in 2026.
