Donald Trump wants a new treaty with Russia. He mentioned Ukraine


Donald Trump did not spare bitter words against the treaty New STARTwhich expires on Thursday, February 5. This is the last nuclear arms control treaty between the United States and Russia in force. The document was signed in 2010 by the then presidents of the USA and Russia – Barack Obama and Dmitry Medvedev.

The treaty limited, among other things, the number of deployed nuclear warheads for each side, although it was de facto paralyzed in 2023 when Russia suspended its participation. Although New START had many flaws, it kept global security in check, of which more we write in this text.
