A resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory met a “successful businessman” and lost 4.5 million rubles

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a 54-year-old resident Dudinki became a victim of remote fraud on a particularly large scale.

It was established that at the beginning of March 2025, an unknown person wrote to the woman in a popular messenger and offered to meet her, to which she agreed. The attacker spent a long time ingratiating himself with the victim, saying that he was a “successful businessman and was involved in large investment projects.” Having convinced the woman of his financial success, he invited her to invest money to get a good profit.

“At first, the victim invested all her personal savings, and later, while on vacation, under the influence of a man, she took out three loans from various banks. For 8 months, a resident of Dudinka “invested”, expecting to make a profit, but later discovered that the funds were frozen, and the stranger stopped communicating. Only then did she realize that she had been deceived and contact the police. The total amount of lost funds amounted to over 4.5 million rubles,” said the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and showed the woman’s correspondence with the scammer, clarifying that they did not meet in person.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated regarding this fact under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federationan investigation is underway.
