Estonia announces a crisis in agriculture. It's about bad weather conditions


By adopting a regulation in this matter, the government in Tallinn confirmed that in the period from April to July, adverse weather in a significant area of the country led to a serious decrease in crops and quality of crops, and consequently to the losses of economic agricultural producers. Among the negative factors, low temperatures during the growing season were mentioned and night frosts, and in summer long rainfall above the scale, as well as hail. In a particularly difficult situation were, among others Farmers from southern Estonia, whose fields were flooded, and crops and crops are destroyed.

Government legislative activities are necessary for the support of agricultural producers and a reduction in administrative burdens when settling agricultural payments in connection with the lack of a guarantee of supplies of crops and collections, at a previously agreed level – says the Ministry of Agriculture.
