Big cleaning at PKP Cargo. PLN 49.5 million net for wrecks

The management board of PKP Cargo, based on the results of an electronic auction in an organized procedure, agreed to conclude sales contracts for 2,829 wrecks of freight wagons permanently excluded from operational use, for a total price of PLN 49.5 million net, the company said in a press release.

As stated, finalization of the proceedings and conclusion of sales agreements will be possible after obtaining the consent of the Supervisory Board. In December, the company obtained consent from the administrator and the judge-commissioner to sell the wagons.

“In the proceedings conducted through electronic bidding, the subject of which was the sale of 2,829 wagons, three bidders were selected who bid the highest prices in individual parts – sales regions,” the release said.

It was indicated that the sale of wagons is a continuation of activities related to the sale of rolling stock resources that are unnecessary for the company's operations, included in the restructuring plan, enabling obtaining financial resources for the implementation of other priority restructuring tasks.
