Russia's powerful attack on Ukraine. Fire in Kiev, impacts on thermal power plants


Initial reports indicate damage to apartment blocks and other buildings in Kiev. Tymur Tkachenko, head of the city's military administration, reported on Telegram that several residential buildings, an educational facility and a commercial building were damaged in districts east of the Dnieper. The mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, sent rescue teams to the parts of the city affected by the fire.

The governor of the southeastern Dnipropetrovsk region said that his region was also under attack, and anti-aircraft units also operated in the neighboring Zaporizhia region.
