Krasnoyarsk will stand trial for fraud in the sale of seized land. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region spoke about this.
In November 2024, a 38-year-old resident of the regional center contacted the police duty station with a complaint of fraud. The man said that in the spring he found an advertisement on the Internet for the sale of a summer house worth 243 thousand rubles. He contacted the owner and expressed interest in renting the site and then purchasing it.
Over the course of several months, the victim regularly transferred money to the woman; in total, he transferred 205 thousand rubles to the owner of the dacha. However, the purchase and sale transaction never took place: it turned out that the land was seized due to the Krasnoyarsk region’s debts on loan obligations.
A criminal case was initiated against the woman under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud). Law enforcement officers found out that the owner of the dacha put the seized plot up for sale several times and took a deposit from potential buyers. Six people were injured from the actions of Krasnoyarsk. The total amount of damage caused to the victims amounted to 667 thousand rubles.
Currently, the criminal case with an approved indictment has been sent to court for consideration on the merits. The woman is under recognizance not to leave the place and of proper behavior, she faces up to 5 years in prison.
