The number of single people in Russia has doubled
According to Rosstat, more than 40% of households in Russia consist of one person – over the past 20 years this figure has almost doubled.
If in 2002 it was 22.3%, now singles are the largest group. In cities, this trend is especially pronounced.
In Russia there are about 30 million people over 60 years old, of which 7 million are single. In this age group, the suicide rate is 4 times higher than in others.
