Mass layoffs in Russia due to economic problems

According to the head of VEB, the spending cuts are related to government guidelines, and next year they will affect subsidiaries of the VEB group.

According to its own reports, VEB ended last year with a profit of 89.4 billion rubles (PLN 4.4 billion). During the year, the government pumped 407 billion rubles (PLN 20.2 billion) into the bank from the National Welfare Fund, which made VEB the largest single recipient of funds from the fund.

Funds from FNB flowed into VEB every month: in January, February, March, May and December it received subordinated deposits (a total of 214 billion rubles, or PLN 10.6 billion), and from April to December – another 193 billion rubles (PLN 9.6 billion) in regular deposits.
