At the start of the current season, Anselmino arrived at Signal Iduna Park on loan from Chelsea, signing with Borussia Dortmund on a short-term deal until the current mercato window.
Once the aforementioned threshold was reached, the management of the “yellow and black” expressed their desire to keep the young footballer in the second half of the season, but Chelsea refused, citing that Liam Rosenior wants to have the Argentine at his disposal starting from February.
Fabrizio Romano: “Anselmino will sign with Strasbourg”
However, it seems that Anselmino will not stay at Stamford Bridge or return to Dortmund, but will sign for Strasbourg, also on loan, until the end of the current campaign, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist stated that Chelsea intend to send the Argentine to Rosenior's former team, and in exchange, Mamadou Sarr, another 20-year-old stopper whom the “blues” have loaned to Strasbourg, will return to London.
Thus, Anselmino will wear the shirt of the team currently trained by Gary O'Neil, and in the summer, depending on his performances in the Hexagon, he will have the chance to return to Stamford Bridge.
However, the German press writes that this move is not exactly to the liking of the Argentine, who would have preferred to stay in the Bundesliga, at Dortmund. What's more, in the daily newspaper IMAGE images appeared of Anselmino in tears, in the moments when he said goodbye to the footballers and the staff of Borussia, a sign that he felt great at Signal Iduna Park. The photos were taken from a video published by the “Schwarz-Gelben” club itself on the “X” platform.

The main reason why Anselmino will arrive in Strasbourg is represented by the fact that the French group and Chelsea are owned by the same group of owners, namely Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, a group called BlueCo, and such actions are increasingly common in this type of partnership.
The Argentine stopper has made 10 appearances for Borussia Dortmund in all competitions this season, scoring a goal and providing an assist.
Also last summer, he was part of Chelsea's squad at the Club World Championship, a competition which the Londoners won.
