“Nastya, let’s at least remove the icon: people might not believe it.”
The guest of our podcast today said to Ivleeva when he interviewed her for that very repentant interview after the well-known party. And, according to him, there could have been many more icons in the frame.
He claims that he was an oppositionist and supported Navalny*, and now he criticizes the Russian opposition and films reviews of it. He has one of the most popular meme channels on Telegram. He also does business, works with artists and owns several clubs. He is Luka Ebkov. Andrey Tretyakov, according to his passport.
And we met with him in the new episode “Without leaving the room.”
We talked about the opposition past and the current opposition, whether Ivleeva’s interview was staged, about grassroots patriotism and the new wave of Russian blogging, about migrants, the ease/difficulty of doing business in Russia, memes, club culture and how you can (and whether) have fun in difficult times.
