Fraudsters defraud job seekers of money under the guise of employment fees.

A new scam targeting job seekers is spreading in Russia. Attackers post attractive fictitious vacancies on popular job sites using data from real companies or copying their websites.
As reported by Om1 Novosibirsk with reference to the Bulletin of the Cyber Police of Russia, after a response, communication with the victim is quickly transferred to instant messengers. “Interviews,” training, and even internships are conducted remotely. At the last stage, scammers demand payment of supposedly mandatory expenses: taxes, paperwork or other fees. After transferring the money, the scammers disappear.
There is a known case where a woman who responded to a vacancy with a salary of 25-30 thousand rubles not only lost money, but also spent about two weeks on a fictitious internship.
Experts emphasize that real employers do not require money for employment and always formalize the employment relationship. Cyber police recommend that job seekers check company details and not transfer money before signing an official employment contract.
