The head physician of the Krasnoyarsk hospital was conquered by Elbrus

August 31 18:30
Egor Korchagin, chief physician of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Hospital, successfully rose to the highest point of Russia and Europe – Elbrus (5642 meters). The ascent took 10 hours of continuous movement in extreme conditions.
According to Korchagin in social networks, the preparation included a thorough medical check, acclimatization and the choice of an experienced guide. The doctor emphasized that the key role was played by the correct planning and motivation.
“Elbrus checked me for strength, gave incredible feelings and showed that the boundaries exist only in our head,” Korchagin wrote after climbing.
The ascent began on the night of August 26 to 27. The most complex areas were the “slanting regiment” with a dangerous traverse of the slope and “railing” with a movement in a ligament along a stretched rope. The final segment – the “zombie trail” – demanded the maximum concentration of forces.
The doctor also noted that the wind pulled out the flag of the regional hospital from the hands. Despite this, he was raised above the western peak on August 27 at 9 am Moscow time.
