Earthquake of 3.7 degrees produced on Sunday in Buzau county

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 occurred on Sunday afternoon, at 16:14 local time, in the Vrancea seismic zone, Buzau county, according to data published by the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics (INCDFP).

Initially, an earthquake of 3.6 degrees was announced, produced at a depth of 140 kilometers, but seismologists then revised both the intensity of the earthquake and the depth at which it occurred.

Thus, Sunday's earthquake had a magnitude of 3.7 degrees and occurred at a depth of 138 kilometers, near the following cities: 55 km northwest of Buzău, 60 km west of Focşani, 61 km southeast of Sfântu-Gheorghe, 65 km east of Braşov and 75 km northeast of Ploiesti.

Since the beginning of the year, 24 earthquakes have occurred in Romania, with magnitudes between 2 and 3.7 degrees.
