Robert-Sorin Ion, physical trainer with an important history in Romanian sports, passed away at the age of 52.
Over the years, Robert-Sorin Ion, a graduate of the National University of Physical Education and Sport, has been active at important Romanian sports clubs. He took care of the physical form of the handball players from CSM Bucharest or the training of the FC Snagov football team.
Before the tragic news that came on Saturday, he was the physical trainer of the Steaua rugby team.

“The world of Romanian and star rugby is in mourning. Robert-Sorin Ion, the physical trainer of our rugby team, died suddenly, at only 52 years old.
A consummate professional and dedicated man, Robert was more than a staff member – he was a valued colleague, a friend and a support to the players and the entire star family. His passing leaves a huge void in the hearts of all who knew and worked with him.
We are with the grieving family and send our sincere condolences. May God rest him in peace!”, the people from CSA Steaua transmitted.
