The largest household waste dump in the Moscow region is on fire at the Timokhovo solid waste landfill. The preliminary reason is the heat in the central region. The fire has already consumed more than 500 square meters of the landfill.
Residents of nearby villages complain about the persistent stench of burning garbage in the air. Smoke from the fire can be seen several tens of kilometers away.
Emergency Situations Ministry employees are helping to transport sand in 10 Kamaz trucks to the fire site. To cover debris and prevent fire from spreading.
