U-BT Cluj-Napoca achieved its clearest victory in the ABA League

U-BT Cluj-Napoca defeated FMP 93-65 in the 13th stage of the ABA League groups, the international competition for teams from the former Yugoslavia, to which the Romanian champion was invited for the first time this season.
U-BT climbed to the first position in the A group of the ABA League, managing to defeat the Serbian team KK (Košarkaški klub) FMP without right of appeal, score 93-65. It is the clearest victory of the Transylvanians in this competition, they are participating in the ABA League for the first time.

The ABA League includes 6 teams from Serbia, 3 from Slovenia, two each from Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia, one from the United Arab Emirates, two plus two teams invited to the competition. In the current season, they are U-BT Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and BC Vienna (Austria).
Mihai Silvășan's students won all 4 rounds: 27-13, 28-19, 18-14, 20-19. They had a very good shooting percentage of 62%, well above the visitors' accuracy of just 37%.

Seven players of the Romanian champion managed at least 10 points. The top scorer was Iverson Molinar (18 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists), followed by Saulius Kulvietis (13 points, 6 rebounds) and Karel Guzman (12 points, 3 rebounds, two assists).
Pin 10 was also reached by Nighael Ceaser, Mitchell Creek, Dusan Miletic and Daron Russell.
The victory lifted U-BT to first place in the group, given that Dubai Basketball, leading until the Transylvanian match, will only play against Split on Sunday, at 18:00.
The record of the Romanian champion in the ABA League group is 9 wins and 3 losses. U-BT lost to Partizan (85-92), Split (80-87) and Dubai Basketball (77-81). Next up is a duel with the Bosnians from KK Igokea, on January 10on the go. In the round, Transylvania won without emotions, 106-84.
In parallel, U-BT is progressing in the EuroCup, the second valuable competition at the continental level, where it ranks 4th in group A after 12 stages.
