Dacia Sandero, the best-selling car in Europe. What commercial performance it has recorded within a year. And Duster remains in the Top 10

Dacia Sandero is consolidating its position on the European market in the context where, in 2025, it was the best-selling new car on the continent. The Romanian manufacturer's model has been dominating the retail segment since 2017, and last year one out of 28 cars bought by individuals in Europe was the Sandero, according to Novinite.com.

Commercially, the brand's performance is also outstanding globally. Dacia exceeded the threshold of 10 million vehicles sold, and Sandero recorded a total of 289,295 units sold in 2025, according to data cited by the Novinite agency. In Europe, about one in 55 new cars sold is a Sandero.
Since its launch in 2008, the model has reached over 3.58 million customers worldwide. Specialists explain this success by Dacia's strategy of offering a modern design, reliability and an affordable price, focusing on the essential elements for everyday use.
In 2026, the Sandero range will receive a major update, with a revised exterior design, a T-shaped LED light signature and redesigned bumpers. The Stepway version will also have additional Starkle protections. Inside, models will include the modular YouClip system, a 10-inch multimedia screen with improved connectivity and wireless smartphone charging.
Duster remains at the top of Europeans' preferences
According to the 2025 European sales ranking, Sandero is followed by Renault Clio (229,778 units, +5.8%) and Volkswagen T-Roc (211,241 units, +3.8%). The top 10 is completed by the Volkswagen Tiguan, Volkswagen Golf, Toyota Yaris Cross, Peugeot 208, Peugeot 2008, Dacia Duster (168,182 units) and Toyota Yaris.
The Tesla Model Y, which in 2023 was the European market leader, saw a significant drop of 28% in 2025, reaching 151,550 units sold and dropping to 15th place.
