I always plant them: 3 varieties of marigolds for a bright flower bed – they bloom from June until frost, do not get sick, do not fade

If you want to grow flowers that will bloom within a month after planting, that are not afraid of heat, rain and poor soil, choose marigolds. They do not fade in the sun, do not rot after a rainstorm and do not require daily care. Such flowers will delight you with bright colors from the first month of summer until the coldest months.

Among all the variety, three proven varieties for flower beds, balconies and borders stand out.

Lemon Prince

A low compact bush 20–25 cm high. Double flowers, rich lemon yellow, 5–6 cm in diameter. Blooms 40 days after germination. Ideal for the foreground of flower beds, borders and containers. It is not afraid of drought and grows well even on rocky soil.

Orange flag

A medium-sized variety up to 40 cm high. The inflorescences are large, semi-double, fiery orange with a dark center. Blooms profusely and for a long time from June to October. Resistant to fungi and pests. Looks great in mixborders and as a background for low-growing flowers.

Raspberry King

A tall variety up to 60 cm with large double flowers of a rich burgundy hue. The petals are dense and do not wrinkle from the rain. It blooms in waves, but almost without interruption. Good for backgrounds, hedges and cuttings, lasts up to a week in a vase. It repels nematodes and aphids, so it is often planted next to tomatoes and roses.

How to grow a lush flower bed without hassle:

  • Sow seeds directly into the ground in May, after the threat of frost has passed.
  • Do not thicken the planting: leave 15–25 cm between plants, depending on the variety.
  • Water moderately; marigolds tolerate drought better than waterlogging.
  • Remove faded flowers.

Such marigolds will become the basis of your flower bed, protect vegetables from pests and add a sunny mood to the garden.
