Union Slobozia – Hermannstadtscore 2-3, the first match of Saturday in the Superliga, did not benefit from the VAR system, due to some technical problems. The President of the Union, Ilie Lemnaru, explained the situation, exclusively for GSP.ro.
Lumberjack claims that all previous technical checks were in order and the failure was not caused by the arena's infrastructure.
Ilie Lemnaru clarifies the VAR situation from Slobozia – Hermannstadt: “There was no problem at the stadium”
“Last time, at the home match against UTA Arad, there was no problem. All parameters were measured and were fine. The TV broadcast was impeccable. The system, the board, the LEDs and the sound system all worked without a problem.
The consumption is not high, somewhere around 40 kilowatts at the level of the stadium, and the generator exceeds 300. The VARs admitted that they had a problem with the car.
If there were fluctuations, they would be everywhere. What do you mean “doesn't work”? declared Ilie Lemnaru.
Unirea Slobozia – Hermannstadt, without VAR
“The VAR implementation team from Romania makes the following clarifications regarding the technical problems that occurred before the match between Unirea Slobozia and FC Hermannstadt, in the 24th stage of the Super League.
Following the technical checks carried out at the stadium in Slobozia, it was found that the arena is not powered by the city's electrical network, but by means of a generator that serves the electrical panel. In these conditions, significant voltage fluctuations were identified on the three phases, a situation that makes it impossible to use the VAR system.
Given these voltage variations, there is a high risk of damage to the VAR equipment, which is why, for reasons of technical safety, the system cannot be put into operation.
At the same time, the generator provided by the host club does not have grounding, an aspect that represents an additional safety risk, both for the equipment and for the personnel involved in the operation of the system”, reported frf.ro.
