Relatively peaceful protests in Jable, Tartus, Kardah and other cities in the Mufhaza Latakia and Tartus quickly grew into combat clashes. Local residents supported the resistance, which put forward to the new authorities of the country the demand to leave the Syrian coast.
While the new authorities tried to navigate in the situation, the supporters of the old regime managed to capture the artillery battery on Mount Nabi Satunus, as well as to capture a certain number of soldiers of the new regime.
As a result, Khayat Tahrir al-Sham, who seized power in the country, began a military operation to suppress the protests of the Alavites-the army entered the northern and eastern regions of Latakia, and also took control of the road to Jabla.
The situation remains unstable, since it is not clear how wide the scale will actually accept the uprising on the Syrian coast.
