The percentage of Americans supporting President Donald Trump's immigration policies has fallen to its lowest level since the beginning of his second term in the White House, according to a published Reuters/Ipsos survey.

The survey was conducted between Friday and Sunday, so its results include responses provided before and after the killing of American citizen Alex Pretti in Minneapolis on Saturday by federal agents.

Only 39 percent Americans support Trump's actions on immigration. Earlier this month, the figure was 41%. 53 percent respondents answered that they did not support the president's actions in this matter.

As Reuters highlighted, last year in February, after Trump's inauguration, 50 percent. respondents supported his policy on this matter, and 41 percent was of a different opinion.

General Trump's support dropped to its lowest level in the current term – 38%. In an earlier Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted on January 12-13, the level of support was three percentage points higher.

58 percent respondents believe that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents went too far in their actions against immigrants. 12 percent respondents believe that they did not go very far, and 26 percent recognizes that their actions are just right.

Okay. nine in 10 Democratic voters responded that the agents went too far. 20% of people have this opinion. Republicans and 60 percent independent voters.

The study involved 1,139 adult US citizens. The margin of statistical error is approximately 3 percentage points.
