The move of the Krasnoyarsk Puppet Theater to a mansion on Mira Avenue is postponed

The Krasnoyarsk Puppet Theater will not move to the historical building at 71 Mira Avenue in the near future. The restoration project of the former merchant club did not pass the state examination.
The regional authorities decided to expand the space for the theater back in 2019. The chosen site was an architectural monument of the early 20th century – the Merchant Club mansion. Modern”. The examination recognized the condition of the building as being of limited operability. As it turned out, the walls and foundation are still in order, but the attic floors have already lost their strength. The roof needs to be completely replaced and the stair steps are very worn.
As Gorod Prima was informed by the regional Ministry of Culture, the deadlines have increased due to additional requirements. The specialists had to make changes to the subject of protection of the cultural heritage site and obtain special technical conditions for fire safety. Now the designers are correcting the comments in order to receive a positive conclusion and finally begin work for the needs of the Puppet Theater.
When the restoration is completed, the old mansion will be completely transformed. Inside there will be two halls, workshops, dressing rooms and a buffet. The façade will be restored to its historical appearance using archival photographs.
