In Uzbekistan, a Russian language teacher beat a sixth-grader for asking him to teach a lesson in Russian.
The incident occurred at Tashkent school No. 188. The Russian language teacher spoke with students in Uzbek throughout the lesson, which one of the sixth-graders did not like.
The boy made a remark to the teacher. The woman flew into a rage, dragged the student to the blackboard, shouted at him and beat him.
Children's rights ombudsmen and law enforcement agencies are now looking into the situation. The teacher herself does not regret anything – she insists that “Uzbekistan is a country for Uzbeks, and the rest must leave it.”
