In a week, a Tyumen resident stole almost two tons of vegetables and fruits from hypermarkets for resale

In Tyumen, an entrepreneur was detained who spent a week stealing goods from hypermarkets in bulk in order to resell them at his outlet. The amount of damage from his actions is estimated at almost 300 thousand rubles.
As Vslukh.ru reports with reference to the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the man acted according to a proven scheme. He would go to stores, load boxes of cucumbers and bananas onto a hydraulic cart, and then go through self-checkouts, paying for only a small portion of the goods. When trying to arrest him, he showed the security a receipt, claiming that he had paid for everything.
There were eight such episodes in total. Over the course of a week, he stole about 1,400 kilograms of cucumbers and 400 kilograms of bananas. During interrogation, the 31-year-old Tyumen resident admitted that he took out the loot in a personal VAZ 2104 car and sold it at his kiosk at the city market.
A criminal case has been opened against the man for theft. He faces up to two years in prison.
