In Divnogorsk, a man robbed a disabled pensioner under the guise of a social worker and received a suspended sentence, reported the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region. Law enforcement became aware of the robbery of an elderly woman in October 2025, when her son contacted the police station with a corresponding statement.

Law enforcement officers found out that the attacker entered the apartment of an 85-year-old woman under the guise of a social service worker. First, he measured the pensioner’s blood pressure, asked about her health, and volunteered to go to the pharmacy to buy medicine. But after hearing that the woman had no money, he abruptly changed the tone of communication.

“The man forcefully pulled the victim’s hand, causing her to fall on the sofa, and he began to look around the apartment in search of valuable property. Seeing a TV on the table, he grabbed it and ran away,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

The identity of the robber was established during operational activities by criminal investigation officers; he turned out to be a 49-year-old local resident. The man handed over the stolen property to a pawnshop, for which he received 3 thousand rubles. Investigators found the TV and returned it to its rightful owner.

A criminal case was opened against the attacker under Part 2 of Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Robbery”. The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to imprisonment for 3 years suspended with a probationary period of 2 years. The verdict came into force.
