The accident occurred on Tuesday just before… 13 local time (12 in Poland). A black minibus overtook the car recording the incident, then its driver suddenly turned on the left turn signal, drove into the opposite lane and collided head-on with an oncoming truck. The vehicle was completely destroyed. The recording of the accident has circulated on social media, but we are not publishing it due to its drastic nature.
The causes of the accident are being investigated by the Romanian services. Initial hypotheses include a failure of the lane assist system or driver distraction.

“I've never seen anything like it”
Romanian media talked to the truck driver moments after the accident. It turned out to be a Pole with 34 years of experience in the profession. “I was driving normally, and he drove straight into me. He fell straight under the wheels. I've never seen anything like it,” the man said in an interview with the “Libertatea” daily.
Another witness to the accident added in an interview with the same daily that the driver of the black bus kept leaning into the opposite lane to overtake. He also had to zigzag at times. “He kept looking around. At one point he started overtaking. From my perspective, it was clear that there was no chance of this happening, or at least it was extremely dangerous“- we read.
