The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, announces the establishment, within the National Institute of Endocrinology “CI Parhon” in Bucharest, of an Obesity Management Center, where this condition will be addressed interdisciplinary.
“We are establishing the Obesity Management Center within the National Institute of Endocrinology “CI Parhon”, dedicated to those who need a correct, coherent and long-term medical approach”, announces Alexandru Rogobete, on Tuesday, on Facebook.
According to him, within this center, obesity will be addressed interdisciplinary, with personalized treatment plans and long-term monitoring.
“Obesity is one of the most serious medical challenges today, through the chain effects it produces – on people's health and on the pressure on the healthcare system. The lack of integrated intervention means complications, higher costs and preventable suffering. This center is a solution built responsibly. The condition is approached interdisciplinary, with the involvement of specialists in endocrinology, nutrition, diabetes, cardiology, psychology and, when necessary, bariatric surgery. We talk about assessment complete, personalized treatment plans, long-term monitoring and health education programs and prevention. Not just one-off intervention, but a correct medical path, from diagnosis to follow-up of the patient over time,” the Minister of Health said in the post.
He also explains that this initiative responds to a “real and growing need”, and the benefits are clear: faster access to integrated services, correct diagnosis, coordinated treatment, reduced risk of complications and a better quality of life for patients.
