Drastic fine for Csikszereda » The Disciplinary Commission made the decision

The Disciplinary Commission of the Romanian Football Federation, meeting on Wednesday, decided on a sports penalty of 25,312.50 lei as a result of the incidents in the match between Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc and FC Botoşani, on January 18, in the 22nd stage of the Superliga, 1-0.
The article according to which the sanction was established is 54.6, which involves racism, xenophobia, discrimination and denigration.
Csikszereda was fined 25,312 lei
Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc and FC Botoşani met in the 22nd round of the Superliga. Ciucani prevailed with a score of 1-0 in front of the revelation of the championship, but the events in the stands led to a drastic sanction for the newly promoted team.
“FK Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc vs. AFC Botoșani – Incidents – Pursuant to art. 54.6 of the RD, the club FK Csikszereda is sanctioned with a sports penalty of 25,312.50 lei“, it says on the official page of the competition
What does Article 54.6 refer to?
“Sanctions applied on the basis of this article can be reduced or even canceled if the respective player or club proves that there was no or minimal fault on his part in committing the violation or if other serious reasons justify it, such as, in particular, violations that were intentionally provoked to cause the player or club to be sanctioned according to this article. The procedure for assessing mitigating circumstances will be the one provided by this regulation”, according to frf.ro.

Ciucani managed to prevail against Leo Grozavu's team, considered one of the pleasant surprises of this season. Following this result, the newly-promoted team thus obtained its fourth victory of the season.
