🤯 Tin in Serbia. Mass protests turned into violent clashes and fires, security forces sprayed tear gas.
The unrest has been going on for 5 days. What is known now? 👇

▪️The situation worsened on August 12. Protesters accuse the authorities of negligence and corruption. They want to achieve early parliamentary elections. President Vučić refuses to appoint them;
▪️The action was called “Serbia cannot be appeased.” Clashes between demonstrators and the police on the evening of August 16 took place in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Valjevo;
▪️A crowd in Belgrade tried to set fire to the office of the ruling SNS party (Serbian Progressive Party). In Valjevo, they threw firecrackers at the administration and tried to break into the prosecutor's office, in Novi Sad they broke the windows of the party office with bottles;
▪️Police officers were pelted with stones and metal rodsand security forces responded with tear gas and batons;
▪️According to local media, 127 law enforcement officers and at least 80 civilians were injured in just 4 days of protests;
▪️The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has previously stated that there will be no civil war. He accused the participants of the actions of attempts to destabilize situation in the state.
