The reaction comes in the context of an unpleasant event: the house where he lives was broken into by thieves on Saturday evening, January 24, and the incident drew attention to the legal status of the building.

“Unfortunately, an unpleasant event – the burglary of the building where I live – has been used to build artificial suspicions and baseless insinuations,” wrote Marilen Pirtea, honorary advisor to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, in a post on Facebook.

The liberal stated that the building does not legally belong to him, which is why it does not appear in the declaration of assets.

“I make a clear statement: the building I live in does not belong to me and, precisely for that reason, it does not appear in my declaration of wealth. It is a simple, verifiable and perfectly legal fact”, he explained.

According to Pirtea, between him and the rightful owner of the house there is a promise of sale and purchase, concluded at the notary.

Until the completion of the transaction and the effective transfer of ownership, the property cannot be declared as personal property”added the PNL deputy.

On the night of January 24, the home of Ilie Bolojan's honorary adviser, Marilen Pirtea, from Timișoara, was broken into by thieves. The authorities have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances of the robbery and to identify the perpetrators.
