Cristian Tudor Popescu commented on the case of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old American citizen, who was fatally shot by federal agents on Saturday in Minneapolis.

“Trifle. They nailed it,” was the ironic title of the post in which the journalist comments on the events in Minneapolis, where federal authorities shot three people this month.

“Minneapolis again. On a man with a phone in his hand, who was trying to protect with his arm a woman who was being held by ICE agents, 7 (seven) of these inmates pounced, hit him in the head, stepped on his feet, then fired 10 (ten) pistol shots at him. The man was 37 years old, he was a medical assistant, an American citizen,” said Cristian Tudor Popescu, on Sunday. on Facebook.

CTP said surveillance footage showed Alex Pretti holding a phone, not a gun.

“It is clear to anyone who is not a Trump fan, that these killers received instructions to shoot at will, being assured that they will not suffer any consequences. Which is what happens: before any investigation, they are declared innocent by the authorities, in self-defense”, concluded the journalist.

The man killed Saturday in Minneapolis is the third person shot by federal agents in the city this month.

On January 7, an ICE agent fatally shot Renee Good, a 37-year-old woman, sparking nationwide protests.

A week later, an employee of the same facility shot a Venezuelan immigrant in the leg after what federal authorities described as a “targeted traffic stop.” The man, who the Department of Homeland Security said was resisting arrest, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, CNN reported.
