In order to preserve their taste as much as possible when defrosting vegetables or berries, you should take into account one of the three tips shared by the editors of the publication “Young Bukovynets”.
Microwave
Thanks to the fast and uniform action of microwaves, the nutrients and structure of fruits and vegetables are well preserved, the publication noted. But despite the fact that this method requires less time, some of the liquid from the berries or vegetables is still lost.
Fridge
This defrosting option takes the longest time, but is the best if you want to preserve the beneficial elements and vitamins in fruits and vegetables as much as possible. A few hours before cooking, transfer vegetables or berries to a bowl and place them on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator to defrost.
Room temperature
A common option for defrosting fruits is at room temperature. Place vegetables or berries in a bowl and leave on the table.
