By noon, the amount collected during the 34th final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity exceeded PLN 40 million. This year, money is collected for the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases in children. Last year at this time, over PLN 46 million was collected.


WOŚP volunteers with characteristic red hearts took to the streets of Polish and many foreign cities. They collect donations for sick children in colorful cans.

Over 400 volunteers collect money on the streets of Olsztyn on Sunday. One of the main attractions of this day are the rides of vintage cars and classic motorcycles in the Old Town, which have been organized for 17 years. You can also take part in winter walrus swimming and auctions on the beach at Lake Ukiel, or learn diving at the university swimming pool with equipment and under the supervision of instructors of the academic diving club.
In Suwałki (Podlaskie), which is called the Polish pole of cold, over a hundred volunteers took to the streets of the city and, despite the frosty weather, collected donations for the orchestra. Its finale in Suwałki takes place at the Suwałki Arena sports hall, where the program includes concerts, shows and auctions.
Other events supporting WOŚP are also held in the city. A local car club auctioned off a ride in a Subaru Impreza STI rally car, which reaches a speed of 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. Those supporting the orchestra can also use other rally cars during the Motoorkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy Track Day.
Numerous attractions have also been prepared, including: in Poznań. At the Poznań International Fair (MTP), where the Ławica WOŚP Headquarters operates on Sundays, several thematic zones have been prepared for visitors, e.g. “beauty zone”, “health zone” or “hobby zone”.
The “Count with Diabetes” march also started from the MTP premises in the morning, the participants of which decided to walk or run a distance of 5 or 10 km and thus support the purchase of insulin pumps for pregnant women. The “Count with diabetes” runs have been held on the occasion of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity finale for 20 years. In Warsaw and Łódź such a race took place on Saturday, in Radom the runners will start at 1 p.m.
Participants of the Great Orchestral Cyclist Relay also rode bicycles from Kalisz to Warsaw to deliver a check for PLN 50,000 to the WOŚP studio. zloty. The money was collected by students from over 40 schools in Kalisz and the district. The relay has been on tour since 2000.
The studio on the grounds of the PGE National Stadium, from where the event is directed by the president of WOŚP Jerzy Owsiak, is once again the central place of the final. You can visit them from the morning. Concerts will also be held there (and outdoors). They will play in Warsaw, among others: Fat's Calf, Myslovitz and Dżem. At 20, the traditional “Light to Heaven” is planned, which will also take place in other cities.
The WOŚP town built on the meadows is open to visitors from Saturday. The attractions include: a ferris wheel, a carousel for children, first aid training and a clinic where you can get free tests and, among others, from dietary advice and gastroenterological consultations, as well as obtain psychological help for children and adults.
