In Krasnoyarsk, an 18-year-old resident of Surgut was detained as part of an investigation into the kidnapping of a teenager. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
According to investigators, the girl acted together with scammers. On January 21, she flew to Krasnoyarsk, and on the 22nd she came to visit the teenager. Young people broke into the safes in the house and stole 3 million rubles.
In the evening of the same day, the girl gave the stolen money to the scammers, keeping part of the funds for herself. After which, together with the schoolboy, she went to an apartment that unknown people had rented for them. There, a young resident of Surgut and a teenager waited for some time for further instructions from the scammers.
The girl was detained immediately after law enforcement officers found out where the student was. A criminal case was opened against her under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy on an especially large scale).
During interrogation, the guest from Surgut told law enforcement officers that she had become a victim of deception. According to the girl, she carried out all the orders of the scammers not out of malice or thirst for profit, but out of fear – she believed in the legend about a hacked account on State Services.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure for her is currently being decided. In addition, law enforcement officers are identifying other persons involved in the case.
