On Friday, the Sejm passed an act that extends the period during which the sale of agricultural land from the state resource will be suspended for another 10 years, i.e. until 2036.
427 MPs voted for the adoption of the act, two were against and five abstained. Now the Senate will consider the bill.
Pursuant to the applicable regulations, the ban on the sale of land included in the Agricultural Property Resource of the State Treasury is valid until April 30, 2026. The act passed by the Sejm on Friday extends this date by 10 years.
The new regulations also increase – from 2 to 5 ha – the area of state land that can be sold to a farmer without the consent of the Minister of Agriculture. (PAP)
