Looter party in Syrian Damascus: locals take away everything that is not nailed down from the palace of Bashar al-Assad, government institutions and private homes. They also rob warehouses, break into cars and demolish monuments to the president’s father.
People have already surrounded the Central Bank, the Iranian Embassy building and Latakia, where the Russian fleet base is located, and everyone is quietly walking around Assad’s residence. Locals found the personal bunker of Maher Assad, the younger brother of the former Syrian president and commander of the 4th Armored Division. In the center of the city, the reception hall in the presidential palace was set on fire. According to eyewitnesses, there is chaos in the Syrian capital – it is now completely controlled by the rebels.
