Aleksandra Leo, during the absence of the head of the Polski 2050 club, Paweł Śliz, tried to vote on the election of nine people to the National Council – MP Adam Luboński told PAP. He emphasized that she was not entitled to do so, because on Wednesday the club's presidium dismissed her from the position of deputy head of the club.

According to Luboński's account, MP Leo, taking advantage of Śliz's absence, tried to get nine people elected – six MPs and three senators – to the National Council of Delegates.
Luboński assessed that this case was directly related to intra-party electoral competition. He recalled that the National Council elects half of the members of the party's national board. – If this vote were to take place, nine seats in the Council could be filled by supporters of Paulina Hennig-Kloska – he noted.
The MP emphasized that the day before, the club received information about the intention to conduct such a vote. Luboński reported that Śliz gave preliminary consent to this, stipulating, however, that as the chairman he must first participate in the funeral ceremonies of his father-in-law, who died suddenly. On Thursday, Śliz was in Wrocław with his family.
– TThis is about dancing on Paweł Śliz's misfortune. What Aleksandra Leo tried to do is an attempted coup, because voting without Paweł Śliz means one vote less in the club. – Luboński noticed.
The politician also emphasized that Leo formally had no right to initiate such a vote, because the club's presidium had decided to dismiss her the day before. – As of Wednesday, she is no longer the vice-chairman of the club, but an ordinary member of the presidium. Therefore, he has no competence to take such actions and he knows it perfectly well. She was informed about this after Wednesday's meeting of the presidium, which made such a decision by a majority of votes, Luboński clarified.
The club's deputy president, Bartosz Romowicz, also informed about the situation in his Thursday entry on the X platform. “Attempted coup in the Polska 2050 club. Aleksandra Leo, beyond her powers, tried to elect the club's representation in the National Council behind Paweł Śliz's back. At a time when Paweł Śliz is dealing with very sad family matters. Mindless and soulless. This is not the kind of politics we were going for,” the politician emphasized.
In turn, MP Marcin Skonieczka informed on
Skonieczka explained that in accordance with the adopted resolution, the club would elect six members of the National Council from among MPs and three from among senators. He also reminded that the term of office of the club's current delegates to the National Council expired on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
In turn, the current leader of the group, Szymon Hołownia, wrote in an entry on
“The chaos of polarization that was introduced to my party by the ongoing election campaign and the deadly fight between two factions of candidates has reached its peak and must be brought under control immediately. The current situation threatens not only the party, but our coalition and the future of Poland,” Hołownia added.
The politician also addressed party members: “I founded this party, I personally nominated each and every one of you for electoral lists and government positions. Today I have a simple message for you. Come to your senses. Enough is enough.”.
On Monday evening, the National Council of Poland 2050 decided that the second round of elections for the new head of the party would be repeated by January 31; The participants will be the Minister of Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, and the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz.
