The plot scandal in Zabłotnia. Stefan Krajewski orders control of KOWR

Minister Krajewski's decision results from the controversy surrounding the sale of a plot of 160 ha, which took place in December 2023, just before the change of government. Wirtualna Polska revealed that the transaction was finalized in just 24 hours, and the land was purchased by Piotr Wielgomas, vice-president of Dawtona. The Minister of Agriculture emphasized that the pace of activities at KOWR raises serious doubts, pointing to decisions made in a short time. He stressed that those responsible for possible abuses must face consequences, regardless of their political affiliation.

KOWR comments
Henryk Smolarz, head of KOWR, informed that he had asked the current owner of the plot for permission to buy it. He emphasized that the redemption price would take into account the value on the date of sale and the costs incurred by the owner. Smolarz assured that the Center is financially prepared to carry out the transaction if appropriate circumstances arise. He also added that the prosecutor's office asked for documentation regarding activities related to the plot, and delays in responses to CPK's letters resulted from difficulties in contact with Piotr Wielgomas, who stayed abroad for a long time.

The plot scandal in Zabłotnia. Political consequences and the statement of Vice President Dawtona
Wirtualna Polska recalled that in 2023, Dawton's company was visited by former Minister of Agriculture Robert Telus. Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on the matter, saying that the plot sale process took place at an express pace, which, in his opinion, confirms irregularities. In turn, Jarosław Kaczyński, the president of PiS, suspended several people involved in the transaction as party members, including Robert Telus and the former head of KOWR, Waldemar Humięcki. PiS announced the establishment of a team to investigate the matter, at the same time emphasizing the need to investigate the financing of Rafał Trzaskowski's election campaign by the owners of Dawtona.
Piotr Wielgomas, vice-president of Dawtona, issued a statement in which he noted that he had become a tool in the political fight between parties. He emphasized that his actions were legal and contacts with government and local government representatives were transparent.
