In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a jury found a 66-year-old resident of Bogotol guilty of murdering his drinking companion, and the court sentenced him severely.

The crime was committed in August 2024 in one of the private houses, where a group of 4 people drank alcohol. A conflict broke out between the two men due to personal enmity. At first they expressed verbal complaints, then one punched the other in the face, after which he went to the kitchen to get a knife, and when he returned, he delivered a fatal blow to the neck. The victim died instantly on the spot.

“The attacker tried to cover his tracks: he dismantled and destroyed the bloody chair, wiped the floors, took the victim into the garden, and later hid it in construction waste in a landfill. The body was discovered only three weeks later thanks to a search dog, the prosecutor’s office said. — The witnesses, out of fear for their lives, were silent at first, but later they said: the defendant threatened them and ordered them to remain silent. Leaving after hiding the evidence, he told those present: “Keep your head down so that everything is covered up.”

Accused asked the jury, hoping for a lenient verdict. The man stated the following: “He kicked me first in the chest, then we fought each other, and when I turned away, he grabbed a knife and swung it. “In the end, I woke up, and he was already dead in the chair with blood on his neck – a woman he knew said that the knife was hidden securely.”

But the jury “objectively examined the evidence” and made a unanimous decision to find the defendant guilty and not deserving of leniency. After such a verdict, the court appointed Bogotolets Part 1 Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation 12 years in a maximum security colony.
