Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu, in Davos: The atmosphere is strongly influenced by the expectation of Donald Trump's speech

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, said on Wednesday that the second day in Davos is one focused on security. She also stated that the atmosphere is strongly influenced by the expectation of President Donald Trump's speech, with a state of active concern.

“The second day in Davos is one focused on security. We start it with strategic conversations with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Presidents Karol Nawrocki (Poland) and Alexander Stubb (Finland)”Oana Ţoiu wrote on her X page.
It also conveyed that “the atmosphere is strongly influenced by the expectation of President Donald Trump's speech, with a state of active concern, with many meetings on the sidelines of the panels to find common diplomatic solutions”.
“The Romanian ministers have interventions throughout the day today and tomorrow, focused on public investments and energy. Together, we present Romania as a reliable partner in the region”she added.

Romania is participating in this year's edition of the World Economic Forum in Davos, held between January 19-23, with the largest government delegation so far, consisting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, the Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoș Pîslaru, the Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, and the presidential adviser Radu Burnete.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the central theme of the 2026 edition is “A spirit of dialogue”and the discussion agenda focuses on five major challenges: cooperation in a fragmented world, identifying new sources of economic growth, investing in human capital, promoting innovation responsibly and increasing global prosperity.
