Former international great Ilie Dumitrescu praised the first half made by University of Craiova with Petroleum and declared himself impressed by Nicușor Bancu, the left defender of the Oltene team.

This season, Bancu has 27 matches in Craiova's shirt in all competitions. In total, he has 418 games for the team from Banie. He is a starter for the Romanian national team as a left defender, having played 50 matches under the tricolor.
