The Peace Council is to be an institution chaired by the United States. Its initial goal – according to the plans presented by the US government – is to supervise the reconstruction and management of the Gaza Strip. The governing body of the Peace Council is to be a board headed by the American president.
As reported by Bloomberg, the US wants the countries participating in the Council to be obliged to pay at least USD 1 billion for permanent membership in it. Otherwise, their term of office would be three years, renewable with the consent of the President of the Council.
