Russian propagandists distribute the image of allegedly an official letter from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which refers to “refusal” in payment due to “the impossibility of establishing the circumstances of death.”
The CPD noted that he verified this information in the Ukrainian defense department and established that this document was fake. The form of the letter does not comply with any standards of office work of the ministry, and the document itself contains numerous errors in the wording and design.
“This fake is part of a large -scale Russian misinformation campaign around repatriation measures aimed at discrediting Ukrainian leadership and creating distrust of it. Earlier, fictional stories about refusal and fake strokes of articles seemed to be from international publications as part of this campaign,” the center explained.
They emphasized that such fake documents and news Russians want to destabilize the situation in Ukraine in order to sow the distrust of the Ukrainian authorities and provoke an emotional reaction in society.
