The Wrocław commune announced a tender for the development “multi-variant concept of development of the Market Hall”which aims to answer the question how make the facility even more attractive for both residents and tourists.

Changes in the operation of the Market Hall in Wrocław. Merchants don't have to worry
— The Market Hall is formally owned by the City of Wrocław. Currently, its user is the “Tradycja i Jakość” company, the successor of Społem. This contract is in the process of expiring, formally it will happen on December 31, 2026 – explains Michał Guz from the Wrocław City Hall, quoted by “Gazeta Wrocławska”. — We want to reassure the merchants who do business here: no one intends to remove them from the hall, quite the opposite. We really want everyone to be able to stay.
In the tender announcement, the city admits that although the Market Hall has many advantages, its potential is not fully used. “Many commercial stands are currently empty, and the trade and service offer of the hall does not seem to be adapted to the needs of the market” — it was written.
A conceptual document, based on market research, interviews with buyers, customers and experts, is to be prepared by April 17, 2026.

Three scenarios for the development of the Wrocław arena
According to Gazeta Wrocławska, the tender provides for the preparation of at least three variants of the future of the Market Hall:
- First variant – conservative: the hall remains primarily a marketplace, but with a higher standard. These include nicer stands, renovated common areas, better accessibility for people with disabilities and modern toilets. The facility would operate without interruption, and current exhibitors would have time to adapt to the changes.
- The second variant – bolder: assumes the preservation of trade, but its supplementation with new functions – gastronomic, cultural, social, tourist, and even beauty zones. Such a scenario could make the Hala a meeting place that also operates in the evenings, outside traditional market hours. It would require a change to the development plan and temporary closure of part of the facility for renovations.
- Variant three: original idea of the concept artist.
One of the more surprising provisions of the tender is the possibility conditioned use of the basements of the Market Hallallowing for the function of shelters.
Wrocław. The hall manager is optimistic
— All activities related to the Market Hall are undertaken by the owner of the facility, which is the Wrocław Commune. We, as the facility manager, are the commune's partner. We have very good cooperation – says the president of the management board of Tradycja i Jakość Sp. z o. o. Piotr Kociszewski in an interview with “Gazeta Wrocławska”. — The Market Hall is a very important facility on the map of Wrocław… I think that such plans are the owner's and we support this to happen. I look at these plans optimistically.
After preparing the concept, the city will announce a competition for new operatorwho would be responsible for implementing the selected scenario. The current manager's contract expires December 31, 2026and the Wrocław Commune does not plan to extend it.
If the work on the concept and the selection of the operator goes according to plan, the spectacular transformation of the Market Hall could begin at the earliest 2027when a new entity takes over the facility.
